Glinda of the noble Upland clan is obsessed with learning magic and being popular. Upon entering the prestigious Shiz University, she was unexpectedly roomed with Elphaba who she initially loathed and described as 'unusually and exceedingly pecuiliar and impossible to describe.' She eventually became very close friends with Elphaba who helped her get into the magic class of the famous witch Madame Morrible. Glinda joined Elphaba to meet the Wizard of Oz who is known as the all powerful wizard that united the Land of Oz. Upon learning that the Wizard is a fraud dictator, Elphaba used her power to fight the Wizard and his army. Glinda, scared of her reputation, chose to side with the Wizard.

For the purposes of this debate, contractual workers include any person working under short-term renewable contracts of service or job orders. A walkout refers to the collective and deliberative act of halting all labor by leaving the workplace.
